A team of experts from Cambridge University Press & Assessment have published a new concordance report on how C1 Advanced aligns to IELTS Academic.
The study, published this June, was finalised in December 2024. It analysed data from 604 test takers – half took IELTS Academic first, and half took C1 Advanced first. The experts behind the report said the time lapse between the two tests was no longer than 90 days to ensure test takers were at the same level.

1. Tests and scores contained within the report do not replace current English tests and scores accepted for Australian visa purposes; and
2. Tests and scores contained within the report may not be accepted by the Department of Home Affairs for Australian visa purposes, in the future.
